• The Power of NAS

Well, I just took delivery of my first ever Network Attached Storage (NAS), it's the Buffalo TeraStation Pro II 3.0TB (TS-H3.0TGL/R5). This is indeed an awesome network beast that's designed and built to store as well as protect all your data.

With a massive 3.0TB (I know, how stupid to call 3.0TB 'massive' when in no distance future that may become a standard hard disk drive space for desktop PC) and a RAID 5 setup by default this piece of hardware is certainly worth having around, albeit it's kind of pricey right now.

Of course there are other options out there but it's my most factual conviction that Buffalo makes the best NAS hardware available in the market today. There are the 1.0TB and 2.0TB versions but I suppose more space will always be useful.

The NAS plugs staight into my existing network and plays along seamlessly. I've had to do some configuration and "mess about" but only becuase that's me. Now all I need to do is move data from my failing IDE drives into my new NAS and thats it.
